NFL: 5 Quarterbacks Who Could Lose Their Starting Job

3. Blaine Gabbert

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGu44HgmH54 I don€™t think any of us know who is number one on the depth chart at quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but I€™m assuming its Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert has not done anything impressive since entering the league in 2011. I€™m not sure why he was even considered a top quarterback prospect coming out of Missouri since he never did anything impressive at the college level. Gabbert shows that he is a quarterback who checks the ball down almost all the time. He doesn€™t show that he has an NFL arm or can even read opposing defenses. He is definitely on the verge of losing his job especially with Gus Bradley taking over team. Chad Henne had an impressive game against Houston last year, but I don€™t see him as the long term answer for this struggling franchise. One guy that I€™m high on is Matt Scott, the mobile quarterback from Arizona. He went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft which was surprising because he generated a lot of buzz at the NFL Scouting Combine. He has good height for the position at 6€™3, but needs to add some muscle to his frame since he is only 213 lbs. However, he is a very athletic quarterback with a strong arm. He has a nice zip on his ball and is very accurate. If Bradley wants to run what Pete Carroll ran in Seattle with Russell Wilson than Matt Scott is his best bet. I€™m not saying Scott will be a day one starter, but he will defiantly push Gabbert and Henne for the starting job down the road.
