2. DE William Gholston Michigan State
Big Willie is a very talented defensive lineman from Michigan State. He stands tall and big at 6'6, 280 lbs. He would be great addition to a 3-4 team looking for a DE. He showed off his nastiness and aggression while anchoring the Spartan defensive line. Sometimes it resulted in a penalty since Gholston is considered a very dirty player. Most notably by yanking Denard Robinson's face mask while playing Michigan this past year, along with other countless penalties. Gholston needs to relax his anger while on the field because it only hurts his team. If he can come into a good situation like Vontaze Burfict was in last year with the Bengals, then he can contribute immediately. One thing I would like for him to do more his use his hands and strength to get off blockers. Too many times you see him engaging an offensive lineman and not able to get off of him quickly enough to make the tackle. However, that can be improved by good coaching. Look for a team to take him anywhere from the 3rd to 5th round depending on how a team values his skill set rather than his overly on the field aggressiveness. If he can steer away from how his cousin Vernon Gholston, 6th overall pick by the Jets in 2008, played in the NFL then William will be in good shape.
