I don't want to mention it but you can't avoid mentioning Hillsborough in an article like this. It is one of the biggest points in the argument about standing areas so I have to talk about we have learnt from it. The disaster occurred because of poor management of the situation and with better ways to handle how many people are allowed into a stadium on match day another tragedy like Hillsborough is extremely unlikely to happen. There is also now no need to cage people in the stands. As I said in the previous paragraph, football has evolved and there is no reason to have fans in cages.
