Premier League: 5 Worst Transfers of 2012

3. Rob Green (QPR, Free)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eo5GyRnDtMY It pained me to watch that again. While he hasn't cost QPR anything except wages and the pure indignity of signing Rob Green, he has already cost them a number of clean sheets. Already conceding 9 goals in just 3 league games, Green has done nothing so far to rid himself of the stigma surrounding him, and it wasn't just the fans that took notice of this. After just four games, Mark Hughes and Tony Fernandes decided that, in addition to the 8 other new signings, they should get a new goalkeeper to replace the one they brought in only two months prior. So, having been rendered moot with the addition of former Inter Milan goalkeeper Julio Cesar, who incidentally kept a clean sheet against Chelsea on his debut for his new club, Green now spends his time sitting on the bench looking sullen, where he can't do as much damage. However, despite Julio Cesar keeping a clean sheet and making 16 saves in 4 games, QPR have still conceded 8 goals in their last 4 games, suggesting the entire defence should also make it into this list. Rating: 0/10 Laughable.
