Premier League: 5 Worst Transfers of 2012

5. Scott Sinclair (Manchester City, £6.2 million*)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iul1KanySRc Unbelievable, Jeff. Becoming what I like to call 'the new Adam Johnson,' Scott Sinclair is the latest young winger to make the career-stalling move to the Etihad stadium. Surely he can see the role he'll fill? I don't understand why young players feel that it's a good decision to join City, when their current transfer policy is to buy ready-made talent. Maybe in a few seasons when it quietens down under UEFA's Financial Fair Play, and they have to start bringing through their promising youth prospects. Coming off the back of a highly successful season with Swansea last year, he was part of a team that out-played many established teams, and out-passed Arsenal. His record so far isn't exactly unimpressive, with 1 goal from just 1 shot, considering he's appeared in 4 league games, but played under half of the match most of the time. It's just disappointing to see a player know full well he'll be used as an 89th minute substitution. Rating: 3/10 Cue the chant, 'You've only gone for the money.' *Transfer fee courtesy of The Daily Mirror
