Premier League Transfers: 10 Championship Players Teams Should Buy

4. Ryan Woods (Brentford)

Known as the 'Ginger Pirlo' back in his days at Shrewsbury Town, Ryan Woods is the sort of technical midfielder that fans of the game just love to watch. Physically, he doesn't stand out, but with the ball at his feet, Woods looks a real cut above most other Championship players and could potentially fit in very nicely with a Premier League side.

Voted the Supporters' Player of the Year at the end of the latest season, Woods turned out 40 times for Brentford, scoring 1 goal and 3 assists. Those numbers might not sound too impressive, but Woods' plays deep down the pitch, acting as the metronome for his side's play and bringing teammates into the action with sumptuous long passes, rather than getting involved too directly in attacking moves.

Woods suffered a heartbreaking tragedy last year when he announced the death of his baby, but still managed to put in some stunning performances and is well-liked by teammates and coaches, constantly praised for his attitude and work ethic, attributes that would serve him well in the top flight.
