1. Gareth Bale
Current club: Tottenham Hotspur Main contender: Real Madrid 24 year old Gareth Bale has cemented himself as one of the most sought after players in the world over the last two seasons. His quick feet and rapid turn of pace has struck fear into defenders across the world and made him a big transfer target for a number of clubs. Added to this he
scored 31 out of Spurs' 66 goals during the 2012/2013 season in just 52 appearances. All season long there have been debates over Bale's future, with clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester United showing the most interest. United appear to have given up hope of signing Bale as Madrid have made him their main summer target. They are reported to be willing to
pay up to £105 million for the winger, however developments on his transfer status appear to change by the day. Spurs manager, Andre Villas-Boas, has consistently insisted that Bale is not for sale, and continues to plan for the upcoming season with Bale in the squad. Nevertheless, negotiations have gone back and forth, with AVB possibly starting to realise that he can't hold onto his star man. There has been the mention in the last day or two, that if a deal was to be made then Spurs would want the
inclusion of Madrid's Spanish U-21 star Alvaro Morata as well as £87M. I think, despite AVB's protests, that this is the most likely deal on this list to go ahead in the remaining weeks and it also looks set to break numerous transfer records.
