Premier League Transfers: 5 Stunning Signings That Could Still Be Made This Summer

2. Luis Suarez

Current club: Liverpool Main contender: Arsenal Luis Suarez, a renowned troubled striker, signed for Liverpool in 2011 from Ajax for £22.8 million. He has looked good in a relatively weak Liverpool side and quickly established himself as the new star man at Anfield, scoring 33 goals last season. He is currently serving a 10 match ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic and this will still be in force at the start of the 2013/2014 season. However, this has not stopped the striker from gaining a great deal of interest from Arsenal who are still looking to find a replacement for Robin van Persie. The Gunners have placed a £40 million + £1 bid for Suarez, hoping to trigger a clause in the strikers' contract allowing him to enter talks with Arsenal. Suarez has already claimed he wants to leave the club in order to play Champions League football and there are also signs that Liverpool are preparing for the strikers' exit. They have put a bid of £21 million in for Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa, clearly showing they are fearful of losing Suarez. I anticipate a move to Arsenal will be secured long before the close of the transfer window.
