Rating Everton's 5 New Summer Signings

5. Christian Atsu

The Ghanaian International becomes the second player in two years to join Goodison Park on a season-long loan from Chelsea, following in the footsteps of Romelu Lukaku. Atsu is definitely one for the future: he has blistering pace and boasts excellent skills on the ball. The 22-year-old has already had a highly successful spell on loan at Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem, making 28 appearances and netting five times, and he will hope to bring the same impact to Goodison. He has a superb mentor in Roberto Martinez to help him continue his progress - we saw last season how much Lukaku and Gerard Deulofeu improved when on loan at the Merseyside club and Atsu hopefully can repeat that. However his first-team chances could be limited with Kevin Mirallas, Aidan McGeedy and Steven Pienaar all ahead in the pecking order and could only feature in Capital One and early round FA Cup games. But then with Pienaar injured and the other two prone to picking up knocks, he could feature more than he hopes to do so. Moreover, his ability could be enough to give him the nod over the rest of the Everton wingers and Atsu must work hard if he is to become a regular in Martinez's starting XI. Rating: C
