Rating Liverpool's 7 New Summer Signings

2. Lazar Markovic

Lazar Markovic is one of Liverpool's 'flashier' signings. According to fellow midfielder Joe Allen, the speedy winger has been "dazzling" his new teammates with his early performances, following his big-money £20 million move from Benfica. The Serb helped his former side win Portugal's Primeira Liga with five goals in 26 appearances last season and is tipped to be a hit on Merseyside. Markovic has been on Inter Milan and Chelsea's radar in the past but Liverpool fended off competition to land the 20-year-old, who is billed as a star in the making. His ability to dribble at lightning pace with his head up is one of his best assets, but he has other facets to his game and has proven himself as a valuable goal-scoring midfielder. Liverpool like to attack with width and neck-break pace, a style of play that became synonymous under Brendan Rodgers last season, and Markovic should slot seamlessly into the club's formation. He has shown he is able to make the transition abroad, starring for Benfica after leaving his native Belgrade in 2013, and at just 20 has the world at his feet - and all the makings of a future Kop idol too. Rating: 8/10
