4. Empowered And Fully Engaged Fans
The only clear thing to come out of the whole Rangers liquidation saga and debates about which league the new club was to play in was that Scottish football fans demonstrated their power and love for their clubs. Left to their own devices the hierarchy of the SFA and SPL may well have got their way to gerry mander Rangers into the SPL or SFL1. But they were not allowed to. Call it what you want; 'vindictive persecution of Rangers', 'the pursuit of sporting integrity' or just another Twitter fad. Either way, those who pay at the turnstiles have never communicated more clearly with their respective club chairmen. Expect Rangers to play to capacity crowds home and away in the Third Division by crowds enthused by how they were treated in their hour of need while SPL play to raised gates filled with fans delighted that their clubs listened to what they wanted.
