Spurs Best Overseas XI Of The Premier League Era

2. Striker: Jurgen Klinsmann

Spurs pulled off a real transfer coup when they signed German superstar striker Jurgen Klinsmann - thanks largely to then chairman Alan Sugar. Klinsmann actually had two spells with Spurs €“ the second on loan €“ and his goals in both spells were vital to the club.

In his first spell in the 1994-95 season, having signed from French giants Monaco, he scored on his debut against Sheffield Wednesday and memorably celebrated with a self-deprecating dive. He went on to score 20 league goals (29 in total for the season) and won the Football Writers€™ Association Footballer of the Year.

In his second spell in the 1997-98 season, he joined midway through the campaign on loan and his goals saved the club from relegation. He memorably scored four goals in one game in the 6-2 win at Wimbledon

So popular was Klinsmann that over 150,000 Spurs shirts with his name on were sold - and it's easy to see why. He is definitely the greatest and most predatory striker the club has boasted in the Premier League era.
