Spurs Best Overseas XI Of The Premier League Era

1. Striker: Dimitar Berbatov

With Klinsmann a definite starter in this hypothetical eleven, the final position was between Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane - and it's Berbatov who gets the nod for his undoubtedly superior ability, despite Keane's longer stints at White Hart Lane. Other overseas strikers in the Premier League era for Spurs include Ronnie Rosenthal, Ilie Dumitrescu, Sergei Rebrov, Helder Postiga, Grzegorz Rasiak, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Roberto Soldado - and there's no real competition for Berbatov amongst that little lot. Berbatov had a lazy style on the pitch that was more than compensated for by his spectacular technical ability. His touch was exquisite and he could find a pass and score great goals in equally great measure and with the same outstanding quality. In his time at Spurs, he played 70 times in the Premier League - 63 of which were from the start - and he scored 27 league goals. He also played an additional 32 times in other competitions, scoring an impressive additional 19 goals. He caught the attention of Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and moved for £30.75 million in 2008. So there you have it - the best overseas Spurs eleven of the Premier League era.
