Spurs Transfers: 5 Players Likely To Leave In August

2. Jermain Defoe

Another Tottenham striker who may become a victim of Roberto Soldado's arrival at White Hart Lane is Jermain Defoe. Queens Park Rangers are hoping to complete a double-swoop on the Lilywhites and, with a move for Scott Parker set to be completed this week, manager Harry Redknapp wants to be reunited with another of his former charges. The Daily Mail reported at the weekend that the England international would cost QPR £6 million. Like Adebayor, the 30-year-old is set to become a bit-part player at White Hart Lane this season following the arrival of Soldado. And now that he is in the winter of his career, Defoe could be set to drop down a division for more regular football. QPR are hoping for a loan move for the striker but that's something Spurs aren't willing to consider, with the North London club preferring a sale. The Daily Mail go on to report that Defoe is set for talks with England boss Roy Hodgson ahead of this week's international friendly against Scotland about whether dropping into the Championship would affect his World Cup chances.
