Spurs vs Newcastle: 5 Key Tactical Battles That Could Decide The Game

1. Roberto Soldado vs Newcastle centre backs

Spurs are struggling to score goals from open play in the Premier League. Spanish striker Soldado is a fox in the box, but lacked service for long spells. If he wants to get change of the Newcastle defence this must improve. Fabricio Coloccini could return after injury for the Magpies, and their inspirational captain would be most welcome given the lack of options at the back in his absence. Soldado needs a big performance here and AVB must tell his players to wise up to the fact that the striker cannot create openings on his own. The supporting cast has a huge responsibility for Tottenham now. Selfish wingplay is a huge reason why they are not firing on all cylinders in attack. Soldado will move into the channels, but balls into him must be better. Have your say on the tactical battles for this game below in the comments section.
