21. More Scrapped Plans
In 2007 the club, which was led by Messrs Hall and Shepard at the time, announced plans for a new £300 million development of the stadium and surrounding areas. A major conference centre, hotels and luxury apartments would be built and the Gallowgate End would be extended, taking the capacity to 60,000 and looking something like the picture above.
The plans were scrapped as the new owner, a certain Mike Ashley, didn't see them as a priority.
