1. Everyone Loves Argentinian Full Backs On Wearside
In news that stunned most Sunderland fans recently, Julio Arca became the latest signing for a Sunday League team named Willow Pond, after the public house in Sunderland city centre. He scored on his debut for the Willow Pond with a deflected free kick and his goal was discussed by everyone over the weekend as it brought back fond memories of the silky skilled Argie. Julio, was and still is a fans favourite after he played for Sunderland at the young age of 19 under Peter Reid who spotted his talents at an early age. Julio went on to score crucial goals, defend with class and help support our wingers for numerous seasons and we have to hope Vergini can use Julio's past history and create a new Argentinian hero over this upcoming season. Vergini, may not have the pace and skill that Arca possessed but he can definitely use his flair, as he demonstrated against Man Utd with some sublime touches under pressure on Sunday and his calm nature on the ball. Here is hoping that these 5 reasons will create another South American hero for all Sunderland fans to celebrate for years to come. What do you think of Vergini's chances to impress this season?
