Sunderland vs Arsenal: 5 Key Battles

1. Johnson v Jenkinson

The battle of the J's could be one of the most intriguing battles of this game in my opinion. Adam Johnson and Carl Jenkinson will face off on Saturday in a battle of the wing as both will have attacking and defending duties to fulfil. Manchester City reject Adam Johnson seems to have somewhat restarted his career since his arrival in Sunderland just over a year ago. The England international definitely isn't the best winger in the world but when he's on form, he can cause any Premier League defender problems. For that reason, Young defender Carl Jenkinson will have to be on the ball no matter what. He's made an interesting start to the season and promises to be a great prospect for Arsenal in the future. The typically modern full-back is very capable in defence and attack and his touchline hugging runs promises to stretch Stoke. Adam Johnson will have to be up and down all game to prevent Jenkinson having any sort of impact on the game, and if he's able to stifle the young right-back he may just be able to catch him out on the counter.
