2. Vaughan v Ozil

If I'd have put it to you this time last year that come the 14th September 2013, Welshman David Vaughan would be preparing himself to do battle with Mesut Ozil you'd have said I was being ridiculous. But with a few days to go until Sunderland host Arsenal, that has become a reality for the 5 foot 7 inch midfielder. Arsenal's £42 million record signing Mesut Ozil is in line to make his Arsenal debut against Sunderland after signing 12 days ago from Spanish Giants Real Madrid, and if you needed any indication as to the impact he's going to have at Arsenal, you only need to look at the
reaction of the Madrid players and fans alike in response to his sale. Vaughan on the other hand, has made a decent enough start to this season and is one of Sunderland's four internationals to play in the fixtures that caused Premier League football to skip a weekend. Unfortunately for him, those two appearances both came in losses, 2-1 away in Macedonia and 3-0 at home to Serbia. The midfield is where games are won and lost and this is definitely a battle of David and Goliath but should David win, Goliath's debut will not be one to remember.
