This is not the fight which will excite fans the most on this list, but it seems the most likely of any at the moment. In fact, before the deal to tackle Groves in a rematch was done, it seemed that Froch had already agreed to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. The bout never took place, but there is nothing to stop it coming to fruition this time. Chavez was impressive in his victory over Brian Vera in March and has no fight scheduled at this time. Largely thanks to his legendary fighter, but also due to his impressive record (48-1-1) he is a big draw in America and a bout between him and Froch in Vegas would be a major spectacle. This contest would probably tick the most boxes for the Englishman of any possible opponent. He will get his wish of headlining a major Vegas show against a world renowned opponent. It will be a big earner for the Cobra and, crucially, he will fancy his chances of winning the fight. As impressive as Chavez Jrs record is, he has fought very few top level fighters and lost comfortably against the best boxer he has ever faced, Sergio Martinez. Nevertheless, it would be a great way for Froch to potentially finish off his career and get one more big name on his excellent record. Do not be surprised if this one happens before the end of the year.
