3. Charges Have Been Upgraded To Include A Felony
As a result of the accident, the driver of one of the other vehicles, a young pregnant woman by the name of Vanessa Sonnenberg, was taken to hospital, and found to have a broken arm. Due to the severity of the injury, charges against Jones were upgraded to a felony from a misdemeanor traffic violation, which means he's facing prison time if convicted. That's not to say he's going to jail even if convicted, as a wide range of possibilities are on the table (reduced charges, plea bargains etc.) - but the potential is there. In the meantime, Jones, who turned himself in, is out on $2500 bail.
