UFC Champ Jon Jones Arrested: 7 Things You Should Know
2. The UFC's Response So Far
The UFC has remained mum so far in regards to the situation, for the most part. Sunday night, when Jones was still "wanted for questioning," they acknowledged the situation, but stated "we are in the process of gathering facts and will reserve further comment until more information is available." Well, a lot more of the facts are out there now, but the UFC still isn't commenting. Jones was to anchor one of the biggest cards of the year at UFC 187 in May. While cards fell apart all throughout 2014, 2015 has been a solid rebound year for the UFC thus far, with every card until UFC 186 over achieving and bringing in stellar numbers. UFC 186 was thought to be a blip on the radar, ravaged by injury, legal issues, and general disinterest at the box office; UFC 187 was expected to be a return to form. What will happen to it? Will Jones remain on the card? There's a good chance he will not.
