UFC: Ranking George St. Pierre's 12 Title Fight Wins
6. GSP vs. Josh Koscheck II
Georges St. Pierre and Josh Kocheck first fought at UFC 74, after GSP had shockingly lost the welterweight title to Matt Sera. It was GSP's ticket back to a title fight, and he won via unanimous decision. Koscheck wanted another shot, and it would come several years later after GSP was once against welterweight champ. The two were paired as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter, and at the coach's fight at UFC 124 in December 2010, Koscheck would live to regret ever setting foot in the octagon with GSP again. See, leading into the fight, Koscheck had taken to trash talking and being a general, all-around unlikeable human being. Although GSP would later acknowledge that "Kos" was probably just trying to sell the fight, the champ put on a boxing clinic that involved punching the challenger directly in the eye socket for a full twenty-five minutes. Koscheck's eye socket was basically destroyed as he suffered a broken orbital bone and severe swelling. To his credit, he toughed it out for the duration, refusing to quit, and in all honesty this fight should have been stopped. Koscheck would win twice after this fight, but was never the name fighter. When asked about a third fight with GSP, he seemed to have no desire to ever set foot in the cage with the champ again. After his UFC 124 beating, damage to his eye was so bad that he was unable to board a plain for fear that pressure would do further harm, and instead had to be driven to Boston for surgery. Ouch!
