Who Is In The North East's Worst Team Of The Season?
7. Liam Bridcutt
You might think that after being so scathing about Rodwell that he has been the poorest midfielder for Sunderland this season. Wrong. Step forward, Liam Bridcutt. Gus Poyet once said that he'd take him to Real Madrid if he was ever their manager. After watching him play, you'd be better off sticking a Madrid shirt on a donkey, at least it'd know how to kick. Bridcutt had an impressive debut and a mediocre start to his Sunderland career, but bigger things were expected of him this season. However, instead of progressing, he morphed into a crab, side-scrolling across the pitch without ever really playing a meaningful pass. It's actually hard to watch him play now without feeling sorry for him. He's simply out of his depth, and even during a spirited Sunderland performance against Leicester, he entered the field looking utterly bereft of confidence.
