World Cup 2014: 5 Reasons Why It Should Stay In Brazil

5. It's Too Late To Make A Change Anyway

Obviously, I understand the concerns that people might have of similar problems reoccurring at the World Cup, but changing the host nation at this point simply isn't feasible. This is a tournament that is taking place in around six months' time. The simple fact of the matter is that is we were to consider moving it, then it would have to be to a country that was more or less 100% ready to host a World Cup. This, of course, would only apply to a very small list of nations, and most of those would have hosted an event like this within the last few years. The other issue is that this would also almost certainly mean moving the tournament to another continent, the fact that we have the European Championships coming up in 2016 means that a move to European nation probably wouldn't be popular. Therefore, the best thing is to keep it where it is and give Brazil any support that they may need in order to get ready.
