10 Greatest Star Trek Moments In 2023
3. Voyager Squared
Mariner’s shout of “We get to play on Voyager!” echoed the thoughts of every single fan as they watched the first episode of Lower Decks’ fourth season entitled Twovix. The excitement in those few words was palpable and the expectation went skyward.
The show had already stepped back aboard Deep Space Nine in its third season and the following year superbly followed up with the crew helping to move the legendary starship to Earth. Packed with multiple references to the show from raging holograms of Dr. Chaotica and The Clown to macroviruses assimilated by Borg tech, this episode crammed a humungous homage into under 30 minutes with unequivocable success. Bizzarely all of those seemed to eclipse the ever increasing amount of Twovixing on the Cerritos, harking back to one of Voyager's more controversial episodes in a successfully twisted Lower Decks way.
Of course Voyager would also garner deserved attention in Picard’s The Bounty in her final resting place at the Fleet Museum with Seven of Nine reminiscing. The starship was a huge part in the regaining of her humanity and the inclusion of the Voyager theme only stepped up the emotions of the moment.
It would also be remiss not to mention the teaser scene for Prodigy's second season that included the first look at the Voyager-A which is set to be the hero ship of the show's continuing adventures.
