10 Huge Revelations You Missed From Star Trek: Prodigy

4. Romulan Negotiations

Darting across the galaxy thanks to the proto-drive, Prodigy covers a lot of spatial territory, opening up new worlds and new adventures. Long term fans though will be excited by the return of the xenophobic Romulans in their prime.

There's still the existence of a Neutral Zone, the Andorian Commander Tysess confirms, and peace negotiations are ongoing. This references Picard and the alliance established in DS9 during the Dominion War. Prodigy also brings back the D'deridex Warbirds, the immediately recognisable ships of the Empire.

The ongoing talks don't stop the Romulans from taking a more than casual interest in the USS Protostar once it crosses the border (Crossroads) or from attempting to take control of the prototype vessel (Masquerade), again demonstrating their duplicitous nature.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
