10 Reasons To Greenlight Star Trek: Legacy NOW

8. You Want Crossovers?

One of the highlights of Strange New Worlds' second season and potentially the whole of the last seven years of Star Trek programming was the much awaited, highly anticipated and equally unlikely crossover with Lower Decks.

The only disappointment might have been that Noel Wells and Eugene Cordero didn't get a chance to take their animated personas across to the "real" world. Just hold that thought as what it did confirm as an episode is that there is such a great passion for seeing the different series from the current range interact onscreen.

Paramount might not be in the right place to welcome the cast of Prodigy back into the fold right now but there has to be a real opportunity for Legacy to see the Enterprise-G working with the crew of the Cerritos or at least iterations of those characters from the opening years of the 25th Century.

The storytelling potential is golden as it could mean viewers get to see if Mariner ever made a promotion stick or if Boimler ascended to the command of a starship. This could be one for the later seasons of Legacy so as not to detract from the current run of Lower Decks itself. Saying that, to bring two of the biggest pieces of the franchise together could be a blockbuster level event!

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
