10 Reasons To Greenlight Star Trek: Legacy NOW

You can barely count all the reasons to dive into Picard's thrilling final season on two hands but surely one of the biggest opportunities came in the form of Daystrom Station. So amazing that he got an institute and a space platform named after him, the station contains some of the greatest assets of the galaxy. Not since some guy wheeled the Ark of the Covenant into a warehouse has there been a facility that offers such a goldmine of storylines. Theft of another Genesis Device (wonder if it has a paywall?), infestations of attack Tribbles and more are all right there on the table.

It also offers up one final chance for The Return (pun intended) of Captain James T Kirk. As a Legacy story this would truly round out the Star Trek Universe and allow its most iconic captain, the man responsible for 15 separate temporal incidents, a final entry into canon.

The opportunity was on the cards but lost from Enterprise's never-to-be fifth season and with the sadly dwindling original series cast, it's time for his appearance. Indeed, Shatner is the only voice of the remaining classic crew to have yet been included in this era. If Section 31 is a success though, what about a Legacy TV movie to cover the momentuous event?

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
