10 Ships We Need To See In Star Trek: Legacy

4. USS Stargazer

The former command of one Cristóbal Rios, the USS Stargazer was Star Trek: Picard's first real Starfleet hero ship.

A big leap forward from the movie-era style Constellation class seen in The Battle, the Sagan Class echoed that classic late 23rd Century design, while stepping firmly away from the copy-and-paste catastrophe of the Inquiry Class from season one.

It's still in service, having been part of the celebratory fleet in Vox, though it didn't get anywhere near the exposure it did in the season two opener.

As an aside, it's also dead easy for the producers to make this a reality in the show since the sets for the Stargazer were tweaked so that they could be used for season three as the Titan-A. It doesn't necessarily need to be the Stargazer. A ship from the Sagan Class reinforces the consistency of the shows and their lineage.

Fun fact! The Stargazer's nacelles were cut and pasted onto the Bill Krause Shangri La Class to create the 25th Century USS Titan-A.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
