10 Ships We Need To See In Star Trek: Legacy

2. USS Emmett Till

Star Trek Voyager B
CBS

The USS Emmett Till was introduced in What We Left Behind. This documentary featured the original writers of Deep Space Nine breaking a mythical 'season eight'. This ship was to have been Ezri Dax's command. A special issue of the Eaglemoss Starships Collection was planned, but that fell through with the company's closure.

This quad-engined starship was seen during the documentary, and now badly needs to make a canon appearance. In the assumed time of Legacy, it may be a fair few years into service, though that would allow the designers the chance to tweak and upgrade it.

A classic John Eaves design, the ship was named after a young boy who was murdered by a lynch mob in Mississippi in 1955. Deep Space Nine famously tackled racism, particularly that of mid-20th Century America, so the inclusion of the Emmett Till feels apt for a show that would carry on the legacy of that former series.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
