Who are these ten people who twisted their connections to wrest a role from someone more deserving in Star Trek? Let's name and shame them all!

So, that is something we shant be doing in this article! There have been so many people who have connections with Star Trek that various members of the same family were bound to pop up in the final frontier. Some would sit behind the camera, filming, directing, writing, or even applying make-up to transform those on-screen.

Still others would pop up in scenes, often with their kin, making the audience who spotted them lean forward in their chairs, pointing and whistling at the screen. I know that nose! We may have thought, or perhaps it was the high hairline that gave it away.

These ten examples of family members popping up in Star Trek are fun, interesting, and even a little weird from time to time. How many of these did you know? And how many more have we missed?

10. Keegan De Lancie

Keegan De Lancie appeared in Star Trek: Voyager as Q, the son of, well, Q. His father is the infamous John De Lancie, so father and son got to share the screen in Q2.

This episode was De Lancie's last on-screen appearance, after which he stepped away from acting. He began working with the International Organisation for Migration. As part of his work, he monitored the exodus of Christian families from Iraq to Kurdish regions after an attack against a Church in Baghdad left many dead.

He has been inducted into the US Foreign Service as well.

To get the role of Q Junior, De Lancie had to audition against several other prospective performers, earning the part after proving he was the best person for it. He went on to study in both the University of North Carolina and the Qasid Institute. In 2012, he took part in an auction of his father's underwear for charity, raising them over and onto his head just to prove that they'd been worn!
