Annie Wersching first appeared in Star Trek in the first season episode of Enterprise, titled Oasis. She would of course now be best-known for her role as the Borg Queen in Star Trek: Picard's second season. Though only 45 when she died, Wersching was incredibly prolific, with quite a large amount of prestigious roles to her name.

She appeared in major parts in 24, The Vampire Diaries, Cold Case, and The Rookie. She provided the voice and motion capture for Tess in the game The Last Of Us.

Wersching had competed in Irish Dancing and was part of the St. Louis Celtic Stepdancers Group, and would go on to attain a BFA in Musical Theatre from Millikin University in 1999. She made many appearances on stage as well as part of several theatre groups.

She was diagnosed with cancer in 2020, but chose to keep this private, and continued to work. This included her time on Star Trek: Picard. The first episode of the show's third season, The Next Generation, is dedicated to her memory, and the USS Wersching was docked at the fleet museum in the episode The Bounty.

Wersching died in January 2023, at 45 years of age. She is survived by her husband and three sons.
