Manny Coto was a background actor in the final episode of Star Trek: Enterprise, These Are The Voyages, wherein he played a Starfleet admiral. Oh, and he also happened to be the executive producer and showrunner of the show for its final season as well! Though the norm for these lists is to save individual entries for those who would be known for their appearances in front of the camera, Manny Coto made such an impact with his arrival that arguably every frame of the fourth season belongs to him, as much as anyone else.

A lifelong Trekkie, he was hired by then-showrunners Rick Berman and Brannon Braga, and eventually promoted by them. Though Enterprise was cancelled in its third season, and brought back again in the style of The Original Series, Coto's vision for the show set to right the perceived wrongs of earlier seasons, most notably addressing the continuity errors that had cropped up along the way.

Following his tenure on Enterprise, he would go on to executive produce shows like 24, Dexter, and American Horror Story, among others. Seán had the opportunity to sit down with him for an episode of The Clonestar Pod before he passed away - listen to his excitement on learning the Xindi had returned for Star Trek: Prodigy!

Coto died in July 2023, at 62 years of age.
