17 Star Trek Actors Who Died In 2023

Barbara Bosson appeared in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. The second season episode Rivals saw her only Trek appearance as the Bajoran woman Roana, playing most of her scenes alongside Chris Sarandon's Martus.

She is probably more familiar to fans of Hill Street Blues, in which she appeared for one hundred episodes, receiving five Primetime Emmy Nominations for her work. She made her screen debut in Bullitt, and in her long career, she also appeared in both The Last Starfighter and Capricorn One.

She exited Hill Street Blues in the sixth season, remaining with the show after its creator, her then-husband Steve Buchco, was fired. Her stint on season six was initially an attempt to keep her career separate from his, having been subject to years of snide comments that she was only there because of him. She had managed to negotiate her character of Fay Furillo to go from a needling ex-wife, to an advocate for victims, an achievement that made her truly proud.

Bosson died in February 2023, at 83 years of age.
