3. Prometheus-class

Saucer separation has been a thing for a while. Even the TOS Enterprise is said to be able to disconnect the saucer section in the event of an emergency. However, the Prometheus-class took this concept to the next level.

First introduced in the Voyager episode Message In A Bottle, the Prometheus-class has a feature called multi-vector assault mode. When engaged, the ship can split into three equally powerful parts to quickly overwhelm and surround targets.

This starship class was also equipped with ship-wide holo-emitters, and was the fastest class in the fleet at the time of its construction. Despite being created in the 24th century, a Prometheus-class ship appeared in the 26th century, at The Battle Of Procyon V in the Enterprise episode Azati Prime. This suggests that these ships may have been advanced enough to stay in use for hundreds of years.

Aside from the technical abilities, this ship is also undeniably beautiful. The four primary nacelles and the pointed saucer give it such a sleek look that really goes with the more futuristic interior design. We got to see a Prometheus-class briefly in the Prodigy episode Preludes, so hopefully this underrated ship will pop up more in future Trek.
