Star Trek: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About The Duras Sisters
5. Family Tree
While the sisters only appeared in a handful of installments, the bloodline flows much further.
Brother and head of the house, Duras would appear twice. Once as part of the accusation that Worf's father was a traitor in Sins of the Father and then a second time to vie for leadership of the Empire against Gowron in Reunion. That encounter would lead Duras to kill Worf's mate K'Ehleyr and end up on the end of the security chief's bat'leth.
The sisters were introduced in Redemption, along with the heir apparent, Toral. The illegitimate son of Duras, he would make a second appearance in the franchise across on Deep Space Nine. This time he would be hunting for the Sword of Kahless and crossing blades with Worf, coming off distinctly worse in the process and failing once again to find his big ticket to ruling the Empire.
Taking a skip back along the timeline, Captain Archer and the NX-01 would meet the sisters' ancestor in the season two episode Bounty. His failure to capture Klingon rebels harboured by Archer and the Enterprise would lead to his demotion and assignment to the defences of Ty'Go'Kor. In another link to Star Trek history, Duras' ship in Judgment was named the IKS Bortas, a name that would be used by Gowron for his flagship in Redemption.
