Star Trek: 10 WORST Holodeck Episodes

3. The Fight - Voyager

Star Trek The Fight
CBS

Perhaps its a little generous to describe The Fight as a holodeck episode, though to be fair, I'm not entirely sure if any category would want it in their camp. The qualifier for including it here is that the set in which the majority of the action takes place - that boxing ring - makes its first appearance as a holodeck recreation. That good enough for everyone?

Chakotay episodes tended to swing for the fences as Voyager went on through its seven-year run. Coming in the fifth season, this episode is really a good example of nothing really happening to affect anything overall. While the appearance of Ray Walston's Boothby is always welcome, the entire subplot of Chakotay's grandfather losing his mind, and his grandson's fear of that happening to him, never goes anywhere.

It would also mark the first, and only, reference to Chakotay's boxing days in the series. If perhaps anything had come of this episode, then it might be excusable - but instead, we're siding with Kid Chaos in this one. Knock the Maquis Mauler out, and be quick about it!
