Star Trek: Every* Starbase Ranked Worst To Best

10. Starbase 6

Starbase 6 has the honour of being depicted as three different version throughout Star Trek history. When it first appeared in the original version of The Ultimate Computer, it was a reuse of the Space Station K-7 model, and never identified by name. This was a standard practice of cost-saving, and made perfect sense at the time. Afterwards, however, the next two variations appeared out of order.

In The Schizoid Man, the Enterprise-D visits Starbase 6, this time depicted as being planet-based. However, when The Original Series received its remaster, an entirely new model was build for the station. This, rendered digitally, evoked an early version of Spacedock, with the mushroom-inspired overall shape. It also received a specific designation that could be seen in the episode.

This version of the space station would go on to serve as an inspiration for Lower Decks' Starbase 25. In its original episode, it housed most of the Enterprise's crew while it engaged in war games via the M-5 Computer - an early experiment in AI that had the predictably terrible outcome.

Still, for versatility alone, this little Starbase is near and dear to our hearts.
