10 4th Wall Breaking TV Show Moments Everyone Hated

9. Chuck Lorre "Dies" - Two & A Half Men

Two and a Half Men
NBC

Two and a Half Men's big, sloppy fourth wall break doesn't have the luxury of being easily forgotten, though, given that it occurs in the very final seconds of the hit sitcom's last-ever episode.

In the closing scene, "Charlie" returns to the show, albeit clearly played by a stand-in rather than Charlie Sheen himself, who refused to return for the series finale due to his long-standing feud with show creator Chuck Lorre.

Charlie is then suddenly crushed to death by a falling piano, before the camera pulls back to show Lorre himself sat in a chair watching the action. Lorre smugly quips Sheen's catchphrase, "Winning," before a second piano falls out of the sky and crushes him too.

This is a classic case of a creative letting behind-the-scenes nonsense get in the way of giving his show a meaningful and heartfelt ending. Fans largely loathed it, and it's tough to blame them.
