10 Actors Who Are Actually Much Better Than The TV Shows They're In

1. Bryan Cranston - Malcolm In The Middle

Hal Now don't freak out - there's a reason Breaking Bad isn't in the title of this entry. You see, although Malcolm in the Middle was pretty funny back in the day, Bryan Cranston's recent turn as the ever-darkening Walter White as very obviously pointed out that he was above his role as Hal in Malcolm in the Middle from the start. He explores Walter White's development and descent into evil so well that when looking back on the now dated show about a dysfunctional family he just seems out of place. Watch an old episode of Malcolm and you'll be screaming: "Walt! Walt! What are you doing there; you've got meth to cook!" It's as simple as that. Cranston showed us just how well he can act and made it clear he'll act in nothing less than a masterpiece from now on. I've heard a few people say that Malcolm in the Middle is actually the story of Walter White's first family. Makes sense, I guess.
