10 Actors Pissed Off By Their TV Character Deaths
5. Kevin Spacey (Frank Underwood) - House Of Cards
Kevin Spacey starred as ruthless Democratic politician Frank Underwood on the first five seasons of Netflix's House of Cards, before an avalanche of sexual misconduct allegations torpedoed his career overnight.
Netflix quickly suspended production on the sixth season and hastily re-wrote it to kill off Frank while focusing instead on his wife Claire (Robin Wright).
Though critical and fan opinion was mixed to Underwood's sudden, off-screen demise, Spacey posted a video shortly after season six aired, where he appeared in-character as Frank and not-so-subtly expressed disdain for how he was killed off.
He went on to note that fans never actually saw Frank die and, as a result of his absence, they were robbed of a fitting conclusion to the series.
Netflix obviously made the only decision they could under the circumstances given the convincing mountain of testimony against Spacey, even if the series' ending was undeniably compromised as a result.
