10 Actors Who Made Sure They Weren't Seen In TV Shows

A huge surprise it was to many Marvel fans when they began watching Netflix's Daredevil series and couldn't quite put their finger on who was playing villain Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin.

It was of course none other than much-celebrated character actor Vincent D'Onofrio, best known to mainstream audiences for his unforgettable performances in Full Metal Jacket and Men in Black.

But given that D'Onofrio kept a fairly low cinematic profile throughout the 2000s, many were shocked by his change in appearance by the time Daredevil kicked off in 2015.

The actor gained 30 pounds and shaved his head - by no means extreme measures, but for anyone who perhaps hadn't seen much of the actor over the prior decade-plus, it ensured he looked nothing like the svelte, dashing farmer from the start of Men in Black (before he gets eaten by the Bug, anyway).

Fingers crossed those rumours about D'Onofrio's Kingpin returning to the MCU turn out to be true.
