5. Patton Oswalt - Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Patton Oswalt certainly gets around, and in the case of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the showrunners ultimately decided one of him just wasn't enough.
Oswalt first appeared in two episodes of the show's first season as high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. operative and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) confidante Eric Koenig.
After he was killed by HYDRA agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), though, Oswalt re-appeared three episodes later as his twin brother Billy, and the next season a third twin was introduced, Sam.
Things calmed down for a while after this, until in season four Oswalt showed up as a fourth twin brother, Thurston, who was a slam poet and the only one of the four twins not to work as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
And then in the seventh and final season Oswalt resurfaced once more as Ernest Koenig, the grandfather of all the other featured Koenigs, appearing in scenes set in the 1930s.
As much as we can't get enough of Patton, this was a lot.
