First Role: Jobel (Revelation of the Daleks)

Second Role: Mr. Copper (Voyage of the Damned)

Another crossover between Classic Who and Modern Who, Clive Swift's first Doctor Who role was in 1985's Revelation of the Daleks, which featured Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as his companion, Peri Brown.

In this story, Swift played Jobel, a "chief embalmer" who was ultimately killed after being stabbed with a syringe by Tasambeker.

Over two decades later, Swift then returned to Doctor Who in the 2007 Christmas special Voyage of the Damned, where he played Mr. Copper, a kind old soul who managed to survive the destruction aboard the Titanic. Much to his own surprise, he then became a millionaire, and lived out the remainder of his days on Earth.

Sadly, Swift passed away in early 2019, but his episodes - and his characters - live on!

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
