10 Actors You Didn't Know Were In Star Trek
10. Kirsten Dunst
The transition from child star to serious grown up actor can be a difficult one. For every Portman or Gordan Levitt, there’s a McCulkin or a Lohan. One of the most successful is Kirsten Dunst, who made one of her first on screen appearances in an episode of The Next Generation.
1993’s “Dark Page” sees Dunst take a role as a young alien schoolkid. As the telepathic Hedril, the then-11 year old isn’t given a great deal to do, but makes the most of her opportunity. From there she landed a major part in Interview With The Vampire, and has enjoyed a successful career ever since. It would be fair to say that the young Kirsten looks a little bemused at all the alien activity going on around her (she has since suggested that she feels she was pushed into acting at too young an age), but there’s no denying that the girl is a natural.
With films by Werner Herzog and Sophia Coppola now under her belt, it’s likely Star Trek isn’t at the top of her list of achievements - but we’ve all got to start somewhere!
