10 Amazing Doctor Who Moments You've Probably Never Seen

1. The Tenth Doctor's First Proper Scene

David Tennant's Tenth Doctor was first introduced in the closing moments of The Parting Of The Ways, ditching Christopher Eccleston's mug and regenerating into his new, more boyish face.

His next appearance was in The Christmas Invasion later that year, where he almost murdered Mickey and Jackie after crash-landing the TARDIS in the Powell Estate.

Technically though... that's not true. Well obviously, both of those events happened, but the Tenth Doctor's next appearance after his regeneration was actually in an obscure Children In Need special that aired a month before The Christmas Invasion.

Sometimes known as Born Again, this minisode picks up right where The Parting Of The Ways concluded, with the Doctor attempting to convince Rose that he's the same man she's been travelling with all this time. He also does that obligatory Doctor thing of checking out his new body, discovering that he's got a mole right between his shoulder blades - a mole he's rather fond of!

The strangest thing about this short is that it feels like it could've been included at the front of The Christmas Invasion, at least partially. One of the biggest problems with that episode is the fact that the Doctor is asleep for most of it - so getting more Tennant action right out the gate would've been a big improvement.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
