10 Amazing TV Shows You Won't Believe Only Had Two Seasons

1. Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks stands alone on this list, not only because it's the best show of the lot, but because it's actually returning for a third season in 2016. Although rare, TV shows have been known to make some form of return post-cancellation; be it in the form of a movie (Veronica Mars), or a Netflix series (Arrested Development). Even without the news of renewal, though, Twin Peaks has long been considered one of the greatest shows of all-time with just two seasons, and these two are terrific enough to make it essential TV. Twin Peaks revolves around the murder of small-town sweetheart Laura Palmer. Out-of-town FBI agent Dale Cooper comes to Twin Peaks, a town where everyone knows everyone and not everyone is who they seem, to solve the case. As Cooper, Kyle MacLachlan is the heart and soul of Twin Peaks and is perhaps the quirkiest and most noble character in TV history. But even without him, Twin Peaks has enough fascinating oddballs to warrant a watch, and the weird goings-on are seemingly endless, making watching it a never-dull endeavour. Despite a less-than-conclusive ending, Twin Peaks manages to dazzle and grip in its two-season run, and it's well-deserving of its place on top of this list.
