It's unfair to call most of the entries on this list a versus, as the word implies that each fighter has a chance. That is especially true when it comes to episode one hundred and thirty-one of Hunter X Hunter.

After learning Kite is dead, usually innocent Gon transforms into a hulking beast-man and obliterates Neferpitou in revenge. Much like in the previous entry, the series pulls out all the stops here, both stylistically and emotionally.

There were always hints of Gon's darkness throughout the story, primarily during the Chimera Ant Arc. On his quest to restore Kite to his former state, the cracks on his surface started to show.

Overcome with rage, Gon risked everything to gain enough strength to eliminate Pitou, unleashing his entire power potential and going as far as using his own severed arm to spear them to the ground.

Everything about this scene is brilliantly done, with a main note being the way Gon is framed as almost like a horror movie monster. He's reminiscent of a werewolf in how sympathetic he is despite his terrifying new form. While seeing the scene unfold is borderline breathtaking, it's also heart-wrenching having to watch the kind, compassionate Gon go to such a dark place.

There is no better beatdown more worthy of this spot.
