Now, this one might not seem so terrifying at first, but when you step back and think about it, what could be worse than living with the knowledge of your impending demise?

The first season of The Promised Neverland was a groundbreaking series that gave viewers something fresh and creepy. While the following season did a lot to undo that mystique, it doesn't take away from the inaugural outing of this show.

The series takes place in an idyllic orphanage, where we follow a collection of youngsters called Emma, Norman and Ray. Their life seems perfect, as they are raised by their loving Mama Isabella and have a great sense of family. But, everything changes when Emma discovers that they are being reared as cattle to be fed to a race of demonic monsters.

Imagine being barely over your tenth birthday and finding out that your entire existence is to be a tasty meal. It would be enough to make you swear off meat forever. This horrifying fate is made worse by the fact that you have to keep it a secret; otherwise, your caretaker could find out and have you shipped out early.

The constant stress, fear and paranoia would be enough to make you wish it was over already.
